If you’re like me, then you’ve probably lip-synced to more songs or music videos in your lifetime than you can be proud of. I finally discovered Video Star. This app literally lets you star in your own music video with great effects, and you can share the videos on social media. The app is a simple way for kids to have fun, and they may just discover a hidden talent while using it.
Features
Video Star only provides video recording and not audio. I personally find the interface quite excellent, although it might appeal more to teens as opposed to younger kids.
Creating a video is as simple as selecting the song that you want to lip-sync to, choosing the desired video effect, and hitting ‘record.’ You can actually do this in bits and pieces for one song to incorporate different effects and make your video even more exciting. You can select from hundreds of themes, or choose from a variety of power packs to give the video even more glitz.
Once the video is done, you have the option to upload it directly to YouTube or share it with other Video Star users. A paid subscription gives you access to all power packs and effects.
Usability
The app is simple for teens to navigate their way around. For younger kids, however, it might not be too intuitive, and they may need an adult to help them find their way around the various features. Splitting clips may make your video choppy because of time lapses. Some users have complained about the app lowering clip quality when they try to enter it into a video. VideoFX Live is also needed to create vlogs and videos with live audio.
For your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, you require at least iOS 9.0 or later. There is no Android version for this app.
